Life Reconnected

It starts with simple tree removal – a tree that can no longer provide living benefits due to disease, disasters or developments.

Out of that simple tree, we bring it back to life and create beautifully handcrafted wood products and building materials.

We connect you to the human ecosystem further through urban agriculture products that enable you to grow and nourish your family with ease.

What we do

Locally-reclaimed wood products and materials then build and furnish homes and businesses within our local community, connecting us to the land from the generations that came before us.

We value the wisdom passed on to us by woodworkers from the past, as we slow down to a simpler time to build handcrafted, legacy pieces with care. Our furnishings and accent pieces enrich the places that bring friends, family and neighbours together.

Our connection to the human ecosystem is further enhanced through urban agriculture that enable families and businesses to participate in the entire cycle of sustainability, from planting to harvest.

Proceeds from our company support our non-profit foundation, Ecotree Generations . Through our foundation, we inspire primary and secondary students through hands-on opportunities that gain experience growing their own food, working with trees sustainably and developing woodworking skills to repurpose wood from the urban forest.

Like Grandpa used to do it: Shawn Moore, President

Driven by a desire to reduce waste and increase sustainability within the tree service industry, Shawn Moore expanded Ecotree to implement the 4Rs process: repurpose, recycle, replant and rebuild.

As Shawn identified opportunities to improve the industry, he developed Ecotree’s approach to urban logging to capture the raw material from sites and transform the logs into useable lumber, diverting thousands of tonnes of wood from local landfills.

Shawn’s extensive experience as a faller began in 1991 when he picked up a chainsaw for his first job out of high school working for a land clearing company. He went on to launch his own business in 2005, formed his business on the core values of efficiency, safety and competency.

Fostering a sustainable community, Shawn’s vision for Ecotree is to provide opportunities for friends, families, and neighbors to reconnect to each other, to the land and to their food sources. Through Ecotree, customers can become active participants in the full cycle of sustainability.
